Do I need to apply more than one coat?
No. Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is designed to colour and protect wood with just one coat.
Can I apply Oil Plus 2C on all wood species?
Yes. It is suitable for almost all hardwood and softwood species including Oak, Ash, Walnut, Pine, Beech, Iroko and many more.
Can I use Oil Plus 2C on kitchen worktops?
Yes. It is certified for indirect food contact and is ideal for kitchen worktops, dining tables and other wooden surfaces.
Do I need to use the Accelerator?
Yes. The Accelerator significantly speeds up curing and provides the highest level of durability, water resistance and wear resistance.
Can I repair small damaged areas?
Yes. One of the biggest advantages of Oil Plus 2C is that damaged areas can be repaired locally without refinishing the entire surface.
How long does the mixed product remain usable?
Once mixed, Oil Plus 2C remains usable for approximately 4–6 hours.
When can the surface be used?
The surface is dry to the touch after approximately 12–24 hours and fully cured after 5 days.
How should I maintain a surface treated with Oil Plus 2C?
For routine cleaning use Rubio Monocoat Universal Soap. For periodic maintenance use Refresh Eco or Universal Maintenance Oil depending on the condition of the surface.
Can Oil Plus 2C be applied over an existing finish?
No. It should be applied directly onto properly prepared bare wood. Previously finished surfaces should be sanded or stripped before application.
Can I combine Oil Plus 2C with Precolor Easy?
Yes. Precolor Easy can be applied beforehand to create more vibrant and unique colour effects while Oil Plus 2C provides the final protection and finish.
