Unlike conventional carving burrs, the Ball Gouge™ uses a unique ring-shaped tungsten carbide cutting edge that is self-sharpening during use. The cutter can also be rotated or replaced, significantly extending its service life while maintaining consistent cutting performance. Its Anti-Grab Technology helps prevent the tool from digging into the timber, giving you greater confidence and smoother control throughout the carving process.

💡 Professional Tip
The Ball Gouge™ performs best when held at approximately a 30–60° angle to the workpiece. Let the spherical cutter glide through the timber using light, controlled movements rather than applying excessive pressure.
For larger projects, remove the bulk of the material first using the ARBORTECH TURBOPlane™ or Industrial Woodcarver™, then use the Ball Gouge™ to create smooth hollows, flowing curves and refined internal shapes. Finish with the ARBORTECH Contour Random Sander™ and apply Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C for a premium natural finish.
