ARBORTECH TURBOPlane™
The ARBORTECH TURBOPlane™ is one of the most versatile wood shaping tools in the Arbortech range, designed for rapid material removal, freehand sculpting and precision planing. Combining the speed of a power carving disc with the smooth finish of a hand plane, it allows woodworkers to create flowing curves, bowls, chair seats, sculptures and live-edge projects with outstanding control.
Unlike conventional carving discs, the TURBOPlane™ features three wide tungsten carbide cutting edges positioned within the body of the disc rather than on the outer edge. This unique design provides exceptional balance, reduces the risk of gouging and allows the tool to glide smoothly over the timber while leaving a surprisingly clean surface that requires minimal sanding.
The TURBOPlane™ excels at both rough shaping and finish planing. It can be used flat to level surfaces, angled to create convex and concave shapes, or freehand to sculpt timber with speed and precision. Whether you’re making bowls, chairs, sculptures, furniture or live-edge slabs, it offers professional performance in both hardwood and softwood.
Built with durable tungsten carbide cutters, the TURBOPlane™ maintains a long working life and can easily be resharpened using a fine diamond file, making it a cost-effective tool for serious woodworkers.

The TURBOPlane™ is the perfect first tool for shaping almost any woodworking project.
Hold the tool flat to quickly level large surfaces or tilt it slightly to create flowing curves and organic shapes. Allow the carbide cutters to remove the material naturally without forcing the tool.
After establishing the overall shape, switch to the ARBORTECH TURBO Scraper™ for refining the surface or use the Contour Random Sander™ for final sanding. Finish the timber with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C to achieve outstanding protection and a beautiful natural finish.
